Here's the top I quilted last week for a friend's birthday. The top was given to me several months ago .

I just love all the fabrics that were used in it

I just did a simple large meander

And a pretty blue backing

This is a quilt I hope will get lots of use and laundering. 

I picked up the six tops I had machine basted on Saturday.  Now I need to get busy.  Which one should I start with?

This will be the start of the second section when I begin quilting.  But here it is just laying beside the first four rows

I haven't quite kept the pace I wanted.  It's been six weeks since I started Dutch Treat #3 and I had hoped to do a row a week.  Still five rows isn't bad considering.

The sun is finally shining today.  Yesterday it rained most of the day and the sun didn't come out until it was nearly time for it to set.  Seemed like a good day for a pot of soup.

Today I made some banana cookies. 

 Not too bad but I think I'd rather have banana bread.

Civil War Block 17--Comfort Quilt

Last but certainly not least, the mail brought these goodies today.  A week ago, Elisa, of Postpartum Quilting offered some items she was no longer using to anyone who asked for them.  I had spent that morning complaining about the fact my 6 1/2" ruler had become worn down in the one corner I always use, and with two quilters in the family my rotary cutter is frequently in the wrong place (actually I had two, but one broke).  Not only did Elisa generously send both items to me, but included a lovely origami crane, the Japanese symbol for good health, long life, fidelity and prosperity.  I would like all of those!  Thank you so much, Elisa.
