Update

As the death toll from the Joplin tornado continues to rise  (currently 116) and people continue looking for missing relatives and friends, my heart is breaking for the massive loss that has occurred.  Today's weather forcast is for more violent weather in our area, and it's hard not to be frightened and worried.

I've been glued to the TV set for the last two days, hoping to hear something positive, like the 7 people who were rescued alive yesterday.  There is still hope and I'm praying fervently that more will be found.

While I watch my hands are busy making more blocks.  How I wish that I was well enough to be able to volunteer in the rescue efforts.  Our granddaughter and her husband (she a police officer and he a fireman) were there the first night.  There will be a great ongoing need for donations of goods and money and I will have to take that avenue  to help.

Please continue to pray.

I watch the news off and on all day. The death toll is bound to rise they say - such a small town actually to loose so many. The devastation is beyond belief - when you think not only of the deaths and injuries but of the fact that this is the largest town in the area that people use for medical, shopping, just everything and so much is gone - it will be a big adjustment for the entire area.

Thank you for the post about Joplin and for your new blocks. Greeting Card is my favorite among these.

I've been following the news on Yahoo and it's devastating. I hope you will be safe in your home and that those weather conditions will get less fierce.

I love how all your blocks are turning out and your accomplishment with the DT is amazing. Five rows in six weeks is more than most would do, along with the other things going on. Life for example. LOL.

Funny how, after following your sewing of the previous DT quilts it still seems I'm seeing some of the blocks for the first time. I've realized that the animal and flower blocks are the ones I remember best.
