Happy Birthday Kansas!

150 years ago today Kansas became a state.  Not surprisingly the block for week 5 of Barbara Brackman's Civil War BOM is the Kansas Troubles block. Lots of triangles.  Mine aren't perfect, but close enough to suit me and call it done. (I crop my pictures, so there really is adequate seam allowance on the outside).

Now it's time to curl up in the recliner with some more hexies and watch golf while waiting for the KU / KState game to start.

That block looks kinda complicated but I guess once you break it down it might be doable.

Well, you're faster than me. I haven't even cut out yet. When I saw the title of your blog I thought Ah ha ! A fellow Australian ! Anyone using the name OZ just must be an Australian. But you're not. So I am quite intrigued by how you came to choose the name. By the way, your block looks great.

Lovely block Mary! I have one more corner to piece, but one of my favourite tv shows is about to start... Poirot! Love it! I have enjoyed making Kansas Troubles so far. I used my WonderCut ruler for the HST's... they came out just the right size! I have half the block already together and all my points have worked and the half is 4 1/2" X 8 1/2" so looks like I have this one spot on!

I'm glad you mentioned about cropping your photo! as that is what I do too and I often wonder if other bloggers think I have chopped off all the outer seam allowances!! :-)))
