It was more nasty weather last night, but as is so often the case, the worst of it split and some tracked just north of us and the second storm crossed just south of us. I was at a covered dish dinner for our UMW group at church when it started. We were enjoying a very interesting slide show & presentation by one of our members who lived in the Netherlands for 2 years when a call came in of a tornado just a few miles north. So we quickly disbanded and each of us headed home. We got more unwanted rain, but the strong winds, hail and tornadoes missed us. And for once the local FOX station managed to take advantage of commercial breaks to update us on the storms, rather than breaking into American Idol as they usually do.

Speaking of Idol...I'm happy with last night's results...how about the rest of you? Actually the top four or five were all fantastic singers and performers and would all make good Idols. I'm sure each of them will have a significant music career.

Now...onto quilting..........

I have my third finish for May done today. It's a 18" wall hanging using my good friend Geta's shadow trapunto technique. Each time I make one of these I am more in awe of her expertise. I still make so many mistakes. I need to do a much better job staying outside the batting when I outline the motifs, for instance. But it's a fun technique and Geta is a superb teacher. Check out her awesome shadow trapunto work on her blog.

Yesterday I received another siggy. This one from Filonia in Netherlands Antilles. She tells me she's worked for Bernina for 34 years. What kind of a dream job is that, huh?

Happy quilting.

The shadow trapunto is very pretty, Mary. As to Idol, I am okay with the way it ended. I guess my first choice would have been Danny Gokey, but the top several were all very good, and hopefully they will have successful careers.
