Maybe it was because my mind was elsewhere. Like on the new toy we picked up earlier today. Yesterday I saw an old Singer in a cabinet offered on a local garage sale page on Facebook. I called and the price was right so we drove an hour and a half and picked it up. It needs cleaned up and some work, but I'm hoping it will be a fun addition and sew as well as my Featherweight does.
It's a Model 66, manufactured in 1952 according to the serial number and it's really not scratched up at all.
What looks like scratches in the photo is just the light reflecting off the dust and dirt. The decals are all intact. The cabinet is in decent shape too..could benefit with a good refinishing but that isn't likely to happen any time soon. If nothing else I have a new sidetable.

Nice block! The seams look great! And a new toy~~always fun.
I love your fabric choices for this block! It looks very pretty!
Congratulations on the great sewing machine find too!
I'd be distracted too with a new toy like yours! Beautiful old machine. I'll give the London block a try in the morning.
You lucky lady!! I would LOVE an old Singer like that!
I have been fiddle-faddling around all day and only just now getting onto the new CW block. Maybe I will leave it until tomorrow!
Enjoy your new toy!
Your block looks great and I love the machine. When I first glimpsed the picture before scrolling down, I thought it must be a model around 1952 (the year I was married). That's a great find.

I never find great deals like that. I sooooo want a cabinet for my featherweight but I hate going to garage sales and the list thing here is pretty lame.
Your block looks fine to me, far better than I would do via machine :0)

Love love love your new toys, have you had much time to play with it?
I too want a Singer and/or Featherweight model. I haven't taken the time to research to see if I can find one. I remember my grandmother saying she has a sewing machine a loooong time ago. Maybe I should see if I'm lucky and she has an old singer. I'll be visiting her in May. I'll check it out as she not sewing these days.
The machine looks wonderful!
