It's Done!!!!!

Much as I wanted to be able to say I finished my Dutch Treat quilt in January, I just couldn't get all of the binding done in one evening. But I did finish it today!

21 months..April 23, 2008 was the date I made my first 4" block. I started hand quilting in October 2009 and didn't really work on it much all of November 2009 as I recovered from the flu. It's been a long process, but I've loved every minute of the journey.

I will never be an expert hand quilter but I am so proud of myself for doing this and it will be one of my treasured quilts.

It's hard to get a full picture but I may be able to get one tomorrow when my oxygen delivery person is here and can assist Tom in holding it up (he's a kind and generous person). It will be laundered by then as well.

That is truly a beauty. Oh, how I would love it for my bedroom. I have a blue & white room. Well, I guess I could have one if I got busy. Think I will look for the book and think about the project some more. You have made yourself an heirloom quilt.

I commented once, and somehow it doesn't show, Mary, so I'll repeat. Your quilt is absolutely beautiful! I love the border you did, and the scalloped edge just finishes it off beautifully! What a treasure! It looks to me like you did a great job of hand quilting.

I think not too many quilters in the world would have the patience to make such a quilt. It is a treasure, just like your Sylvia's Bridal Sampler.
Absolutely beautiful ! I see many prizes in the near future !

What an accomplishment Mary, and hand quilted to boot!! Amazing. I have wanted to do this quilt and just can't bring myself to start it even tho I have drooled over the pattern for years. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Just beautiful.
